Owning MS Office XP Pro for quite some time, I became confident using that program. I could think of nothing that MS Office Pro 2007 had that my XP didn't. After using the trial version of 2007, I was pleasantly incorrect. .Microsoft Office Professional 2007 FULL VERSION
Don't get me wrong I'm a long way from the aforementioned comfort level, but it will come with time. As with (in my opinion) most MS program of yore, 2007 has help and community support programs that one could spend hours upon hours reading until you forget the subject of the original question. As I used 2007, I realized that there are many ways to learn how to use the program, and the more I used it, the program adapted to MY LEARNING METHOD! If this teaching tool existed in my XP program, I missed it! For example, after I designed a few work sheets in Excel 2007, the program has learned that I make Headers and Footers by typing them in the original document, so it stopped "asking" if I wanted to use the tool. Perhaps this is inconsequential to most users, but I am really impressed!
As a final note, I'm using Office Pro 2007 with Windows 2007 Ultimate (which I also recommend).Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate

    Happy to be free from Microsoft Office - Amazon Buyer -
    The brief story is that I purchased Microsoft Office 2007 in 2007 with an new HP computer. Functionally Microsoft Office was adequate - it was sometimes difficult and crashed for incomprehensible reasons but it was what was on the market. I installed it on two subsequent computers. The license was declared invalid when I installed it on a fourth computer. I only keep two computers at a time and I uninstalled on the the two discarded computers. Rather than hassle with customer nosupport at Microsoft I decided to give Open Office a tryout - I immediately forgot about Microsoft Office - Open Office is at least as adequate as Microsoft Word from an interface standpoint but, more importantly, no computer crashes and no upgrade fees.

    I've used Office 2007 for about 6 months now and still find it difficult to work with. Basically I just want to go back to an earlier version or switch to Open Office which I've already done at home. The changes to Office 2007 often just don't make sense except if the intent was to draw a distinction between this MS product and every other contender. Lets face it everyone else seems to have copied the earlier Office feel which in turn was copied from others before them. It doesn't take much for users of earlier Office products to switch to Open Office for example. But get your captive corporate/government customers used to the new feel and they should want to buy it for the home and eventually just keep buying the product. Except that:

    a. Common tasks such as "save as" now require you to customize the interface.
    b. "Print" in Word now requires you to customize the interface! Really?!!! Once done its there but who in their right mind thought that shouldn't be a default item?
    c. The constant "where did they stick that function?" hunt.
    d. Outlook is now a slow bloated resource hog that takes far too long to start up.
    e. Most users will never use the advanced functions that make Office 2007 worth buying.
    f. Availability of free office productivity suites that work just fine.

    Microsoft Office Professional 2007 is majic. They finally got it right. Outlook is my main tool but all the rest of the products are very well enhanced. It is worth the upgrade from previous office editions. I upgraded to Microsoft Windows 7 and feel the same about it. Microsoft finally got both products correct. They are almost intutive and know what you want to do. They fix themselves in most situations and give you the flexibility to create a desktop and file system the way it should have been all along. Great product.
